Las Cruces (NM) Onate High linebacker Zach Daugherty commits

PrepNewMexico.com's publisher Jeff Stroud has confirmed that LB Zach Daugherty from Las Cruces (NM) Onate High that he has been officially committed to the University of New Mexico.

Daugherty tells Stroud, "UNM was just the right place. I loved the coaches, the facilities, the program and just everything about it."

Daugherty was ranked as the top prospect in NM by Scout.com. Zach chose the Lobos over offers from New Mexico State and San Diego State.

Daugherty (6-1 195) recorded 116 tackles, 5 sacks and 3 INTs last year as a junior.
