Carson (Calif.) defensive back Kevin Lane will walk-on with Arizona State, arriving in Tempe, earlier this week.
"Kevin graduated with a 3.0 G.P.A. and also took the initiative to take an intermediate math college course at Compton College in his last semester of high school, which earned him three college units," said his father, Kevin Sr. "He left for Arizona State on July 5 to start his collegiate career as a Sun Devil."
Lane also began classes at Arizona State, as a preferred walk-on, he's also able to work with the team.

He started the summer bridge program on July 6 as well as working out with his new teammates and coaches, who have made Kevin feel welcomed and comfortable since his first visit in March of this year."
Lane will be enrolling with a solid class of freshman for the Sun Devils.
"I'm going to demonstrate my persistence, work ethics and abilities on the field just as I did in the classroom and I'm sure that I'll be on the field to represent the Sun Devils soon," Lane said.
A two-star corner by Scout.com in the class of 2009 rankings, Lane had 78 tackles, four deflections, three forced fumbles, two interceptions and a fumble recovery. He also had seven tackles for loss and a safety. Lane was named All-City and All-League as a defensive back in 2008 and selected to the 2009 Lions Club High School All-Star team.
