Mancinelli Goes Camp Crazy

Dino Mancinelli performed brilliantly when Scout.com saw him live at the New Level Athletics 7-on-7 passing camp at Rutgers University and since then he decided that getting out on college campuses would be the best way to market himself.

At 6-foot, 215 pounds Dino Mancinelli may not have the prototypical size that colleges like at quarterback, however the Cheshire Academy signal caller definitely has the talent to play Division I football and is trying to prove that to coaches on the camp trail this summer.

“I’ve just been to a bunch of camps trying to get my first offer this summer,” Mancinelli explained. “I’ve been to Massachusetts, Villanova, Boston College, Lafayette, Yale, Fordham and now I’m up at New Haven.”

“Fordham told me they’d be waiting for my senior season to let me know what is going on and I’ve still been getting a lot of mail from Connecticut, Rutgers and Syracuse,” Mancinelli said. “I feel that I’m going to get some offers by the end of the summer from some of the schools that are talking to me.”

Mancinelli led the Colonial League in passing as a sophomore, throwing for 1517 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions with a 63-percent completion percentage in only eight games. He was named first-team All-Colonial League at quarterback.
