Christian Thomas is the Real Deal

Christian Thomas of Highland High School in Palmdale, Calif. is Scout's 7th ranked Tight End in the entire country. He showed why he is so highly thought of in the Santa Fe 7v7 Tournament over the weekend.

It doesn't take long to pick out Highland's Christian Thomas on the football field. At 6-3 and 245 pounds, he strikes and imposing figure.

It doesn't take long for the opposing team to figure out who Highland's go to receiver is during a passing league either as defenders were quick to call out to one another "watch the big dude, that's their guy!"

Thomas explodes off the line and is extremely physical. More than one linebacker bumped the back of his head on the grass after trying to check Thomas. He has solid hands in and out of traffic, and he elevates like a wide receiver rather than a tight end pushing 250 pounds.

Some liberties get taken by both sides during a passing league when it comes to bumping and holding, and Thomas may have gotten a little more physical with some of his defenders than he might normally be allowed to get away with. But if I'm watching as a coach, I'm salivating at the idea of watching him destroy linebackers once the pads come on, and I want to run the ball.

Currently Thomas favors UCLA and USC over a host of other schools.
