Los Gatos (Calif.) receiver Andrew Berg, an integral part of a CIF title last year, can head into his senior season knowing where he's headed for college.
"I just returned from an east coast trip where I received an offer from Harvard," said Berg. "About a week ago I verbally committed to Harvard."
Berg noted that because of the Ivy League's standing on offers and scholarships, nothing is really set in stone just yet.
"With the Ivy's nothing is official," said Berg. "I'll know more in October when the admissions take place."
Other schools that showed interest in Berg were Boise State, Northwestern, UC Davis, and Cal Poly.
Berg teamed with Colorado commit Nick Hirschman last fall to lead Los Gatos to the CIF-CCS Medium Schools title.
He had 48 receptions for 1,103 yards and 10 touchdowns offensively and added 36 tackles, three picks and two fumble recoveries.
Berg was named First team All-San Jose Mercury News, Honorable Mention All-Metro (SF Gate), De Anza (SCVAL)League Junior of the Year and Team Offensive Player of the year.
