"Ht: 5'11 ¼" Wt: 217 lbs." What is your greatest football memory? "Although there are many, picking off a pass in the flats last season and returning it 80 yards for a TD is the first that comes to mind." What are your goals for the upcoming season? "Goal number one is for our team to win a state championship. Others are to have an extremely productive season and make first team All State Defense." How are you preparing for the upcoming season? Will you attend any camps this summer? "I'm hitting the weight room often, working on explosion using plyometrics, as well as staying conditioned and flexible with cardio and stretching exercises. Coach Campos of Sabino High School has established an excellent summer workout environment which provides benefits for those who are willing to take advantage of them. Camps were hard to fit in this year due to family budget constraints and scheduling. Summer passing league, workout schedules, and my sister's graduation event tended to take priority although I'm always willing to try and fit one in." What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve? What area would you like to keep improving on? "I'm always looking to improve my knowledge of the game. I feel that the more I learn about the game, the more my instincts tend to develop, and the more I can apply them on the field." Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out for? "Michael Poindexter OL/DL, Stephen Fraser RB/LB/DB and of course Keanu Nelson all around athlete." Name one teammate you really respect and why? "Stephen Fraser, a good friend with a solid work ethic and extreme confidence on the field." What are your goals regarding playing football in college? "My primary goal is to secure a scholarship by proving my abilities as a football player and getting that opportunity to play with the best, then proving I can play alongside them while acquiring a good education." Who is currently recruiting you? Do you have any offers yet? "No offers yet, but I have been in communication with coaches from Fresno State, Colorado, University of New Mexico, Army, Utah, San Diego State and the University of Northern Colorado." Would you consider staying in state to play in college? "If the offers were there and the relations were good, absolutely." What would your top 5 college choices be? "Currently, and because of the communications I have had with the coaches, I'd have to say Fresno State, Colorado, Utah, the University of New Mexico, and San Diego State." Who is the best player you ever played against? Why? "In all honesty I tend not too focus much on one name when I play, but rather on getting my end of the job done, although I must mention Mike Brown RB from Cactus High School (2008), because of his quickness and elusiveness." Name one opponent who you really respect and why? "Again, I respect all opponents enough to prepare as hard as I possibly can for each and every one of them, but if I had to name one, I must respect the way Canyon Del Oro (Tucson) finished last season and take that into consideration this season." What other sports do you play? "I currently run track and did play baseball for two years prior to what I considered as conflicting with my football preparation." What are your best max lifts in the bench, squat, power clean and 40 yard dash? Bench Press: 350 lbs Squat: 500 lbs Power Clean: 320 lbs 40 yard dash: 4.6 How do you think your coach would describe you as a player? "I would hope that I have sufficiently done enough or will do enough, to where he would describe me as an ethical, reliable, hard working, playmaker with leadership abilities and intense football instincts. What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player? "Strengths: Strong downhill player with natural instincts for the ball and excellent tackling abilities. Weaknesses: I'm a person of few words, which at times, for people that do not fully know me, could be misconstrued as unfriendly or unapproachable. This is not so much a problem with opponents, its more coaches and teammates that would be more of my concern." Who is your favorite athlete and why? "Ray Lewis, because of his passion, intensity, and ability to make the play, which tends to carry over and spread out to the rest of his teammates." What is the best piece of advice you have ever received? "Quit acting like a two year old." which I interpreted as "Do what you need to do to get things done, take responsibility for your actions, and no whining." Tell us what can we expect from your team this season? "Sabino High School, an explosive offense and a tough hard nosed defense with non stop action and a run for the State Championship." What position do you think you will play in college? "Outside linebacker and/or strong safety." What can a college program expect from you as a player? "A morals and ethics driven, dedicated, hard working student athlete with a passion for the game of football and a continuous learning spirit. What is your GPA and SAT/ACT score? "Current GPA: 3.26, SAT Scores: Math: 530, Reading: 530, Writing: 500, Total Score: 1560." What will the main factors be when you choose a school?
