The 6' 2", 208 pound linebacker out of Pelham already had an offer from Ole Miss before entering the camp, but he still had one goal in mind. To learn more about how Nigel Terrell's visit went to Ole Miss and much more, read below.
"I wanted to show them that I was the best (LB) one they were after," added ther personable
Nigel Terrell
.
Well, did he?
"I hope so (laugh). I think I did well out there and really got their attention. They told me they were coming after me hard (laugh)."
Overall, how did the camp go?
"It was real good, actually. I did not expect to go on offense (WR) but I did. I got a few catches, but besides that, the camp was fun. Their LB coach really worked us. I also went with the linebackers for a lot of the drills. It was the first camp I have been to where they worked us that hard, and I have been to a lot of camps (USM, Ole Miss, FSU, Oklahoma State, Clemson, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama)."
Was this the first time Nigel has visited the Oxford campus, and if so, what was he keying in on before making the trip?
"Yes, it was my first trip. I wanted to see the campus and what it was like. I went around the campus with my mother, and we would just strike up a conversation with a stranger and start asking them what it was really like there. We got their take on everything. I just wanted to see how my mom felt about it, and she really really enjoyed it. She had pretty much the same thoughts that I did. I also wanted to meet their coaches. Coach Nutt is great. Coach Markuson and
Tyrone Nix
are some good guys. I just wanted to get a feel for the campus and coaches. I was very impressed with the IPF and just the whole practice faciliites. They are all right there together. I liked the whole campus."
The LB coach at Ole Miss also left a favorable impression.
"He is very dedicated in general. He will make you work for it and expects nothing but the best from you. That is the vibe I got. He really expects his players to be on top of their game."
What stood out the most about Ole Miss over everything else?
"I really liked the campus. It was the nicest I have seen yet."
Nigel reported to
Scout.com
before he went to the camp that he had Ole Miss and FSU on top of his list. Is that still the case?
"Yes, it is still pretty much even between those two. I just want to establish a closer relationship before I make a decision."
Have both schools offered?
"Yes sir."
Anymore schools offered that are still in the game?
"West Virginia, Arkansas, and Kentucky are the other schools who have offered that I am still looking at. Tennessee has not offered me yet, but I am still looking at them too."
What about Auburn and Alabama?
"I enjoy the Auburn coaches, but I do not know if they are quiet up there with FSU and Ole Miss."
What stands out the most about FSU?
"I had a chance to attend a track meet down there and then I came back for their football camp. They also have a nice campus, and it looks like they are going to be pretty strong next year, but so is Ole Miss. I like their coaches as well, and both colleges have plenty of academic courses to choose from. That is why they are kind of equal right now."
