Crab Bowl Combine Interview: Matt Robinson

Maryland commit Matt Robinson put in work at the Crab Bowl Combine this past weekend. Held at Athletic Republic in Bowie, members of the initial Super Sixty put themselves to the test with a series of tests including ten and twenty yard dash times, vertical jumps, bench press, and broad jumps just to name a few.
Matt Robinson
of Atholton High in Columbia was not sure what to make of the University of
Maryland
and what he was hearing from them regarding his recruiting.
“They just kept telling me that the number of scholarships they had was very limited,” says the 6-foot-3, 200-pound Robinson, “especially for a wide receiver like myself. They just told me to work hard and come to their camp. If I ran well at their camp and caught the ball like they knew I could than they would probably offer me. Well I ran well and posted some good times, and next thing I know I’m getting offered a scholarship. The whole process was incredible.”
It will be interesting to see what Maryland does with Robinson, as they initially were telling him that he would be a safety for them, not an offensive player. Now that he has committed Robinson might try to sneak his way into a wide receiver spot or possibly even talk the coaching staff into letting him play a little H-Back. One thing is for sure he is certainly a talented enough athlete to play any of those positions.
Robinson took some time to speak with Scout.com during the Crab Bowl Combine, check out his interview below.
