Mancinelli Looking I-AA

Dino Mancinelli has shown at countless passing camps that he has the ability to play at the FBS level, however his lack of size is something that is really hurting him in recruiting with schools at that level. He is however a hot commodity at the FCS level right now.

Dino Mancinelli, a 6-foot, 185-pound quarterback from Cheshire Academy in Cheshire, Conn., is still hearing form Division I-A schools, but thinks he’ll end up at the Division I-AA level.

“I’ve been getting a bunch of letters from Connecticut, Rutgers and Virginia right now, but it’s just basic stuff inviting me out to their games,” Mancinelli said. “The only school that has been handwritten of those three has been Rutgers, so I don’t know their interest levels right now.”

“I know that Robert Morris is about to offer me and the head coach at Citadel says that they like me a lot too and plan to recruit me really hard. At this point I think I’m going to end up playing at the I-AA at this point which is fine with me. I visited Robert Morris in the spring and really liked them a lot, so I’d be really happy to play there. I get a ton of mail from I-AA schools now, so after the first three games of my senior season it sounds like things could definitely pick up on the offer front.”

Mancinelli led the Colonial League in passing as a sophomore, throwing for 1517 yards, 13 touchdowns and six interceptions with a 63-percent completion percentage in only eight games. He was named first-team All-Colonial League at quarterback.
