Florida FB ready to break out
Hillsborough High is loaded with offensive skill players this season and running back is no different. One of their top players there is fullback prospect Jamie Knott, a 2011 graduate. "I'm an all-around back," Knott said. "I can run, I can block, and I can catch. I'll do whatever my team needs me to do." Knott, 5-foot-9 and 215 pounds, did a little bit of each of those things last season. "I caught five passes and I scored seven touchdowns on the ground," he said. "Hopefully this year I'll get even more involved in the offense. My freshman year I just blocked. Last year they got me the ball more so I'm excited to see what happens this year." Knott, who also throws the shot put in track, talked about the early recruiting process. "I like Miami, Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, and Notre Dame," he said. "Miami's my dream school. I always liked Sean Taylor and that's where he went and ever since I wanted to go there." Knott, who didn't attend any college camps, talked about what he'll be looking for in a school. "The atmosphere, the academics, and the program in general," he said. Inside the classroom Knott claims a 2.9 GPA and hasn't taken the test yet.
