Werner Holding 13 Offers
Bjoern Werner is a 6-foot-4, 270-pound athlete from Salisbury School that is one of the most athletic big men I've watched during my time at Scout.com, however the level of competition he's played against and his lack of exposure aren't helping him right now. When we say it's not helping him, it's in a certain context as he has plenty of offers, but with his upside, he should have more. "Right now we have written offers for Bjoern from Connecticut, Boston College, Syracuse, Rutgers, Maryland, Missouri, California, Oregon, Tulane, Tulsa, UTEP, Boise State and Buffalo," Chris Adamson said. "Wisconsin, Florida and North Carolina have been in contact and are very interested in him and Duke sounds like they are about to offer as well." "Florida has told me they just want to see his first two games," Adamson explained. "They had him down for Friday Night Lights and he was great down there from the feedback I got from Steve Addazio and Urban Meyer. I have talked to them a few times since he came home from there and they told me their interest level is extremely high now that they've seen him in person." Adamson spoke a bit about what he sees in Werner. "I've had the chance to spend a lot of time with him this summer putting him through workouts and I'm amazed at how great of an athlete he is. He can do anything you want him to do on the field and right now he's still a raw player, so he has a very high ceiling. He rushes the passer well, is extremely strong, can make plays, can catch the ball, can throw the ball…he's just got a ton of talent. Of the schools that have offered him about half of the schools have told me he could step in and play as a freshman." The ceiling on Werner is tremendous and at some point, a school could be getting a future big-timer at the FBS level.
