ATLANTA, Ga. – When talking about Stephenson and Tucker, you know there are some top recruits on…
2012 Intro: Jafar Mann
Prospect: Jafar Mann Class: 2012 Location: Stone Mountain, Georgia High School: Stephenson Position: Defensive Tackle Size: 6-3/255 Strengths: "I think my height, my strength, and my speed are my biggest ones now." Need to Work On: "One thing I really want to improve on is my hips. I think that would make me a lot better." Recruiting: "Alabama and Georgia are very interested, Florida has sent me some mail, and I just got some mail from Penn State." Offers: "Tennessee is the only one right now an Georgia said they are going to send me an offer my junior year." Top Schools: "My favorite is Georgia and then it would be Florida, Miami, Alabama, and Tennessee." Summer Camps: "I went to Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee camps this year. I liked how they taught me some new technique at Georgia. Alabama worked with me some and I liked Tennessee's defensive scheme." 2008 Season: "I did not start last as a freshman, but I played a lot behind Michael Thornton. I still averaged about four tackles a game and I had some sacks." 2009 Goals: "I want to get more than six tackles and one sack a game. I also want to be a dominant tackle on offense too. I don't think I will start on OL, but I want to do well when I go in there." Scout's Take: Mann has a chance to be one of the top linemen in the South in the class of 2012. He is versatile and could end up on either side of the ball, but his size, feet, and athleticism makes him a defensive tackle prospect at this time. He is still raw, but he has very good hands and is learning from one of the best in 2010 in Michael Thornton. Tennessee has told him he has an offer now and Georgia says one will come, expect many more out of the SEC to join them in the future.
