The Maryland Crab Bowl has just added a very fine athlete to the mix. Just like J.R. Ferguson, who was named to the initial Super Sixty roster, this young man plays his high school ball at a school in Virginia, however officially resides in Maryland.
After some conversation with
Aramide Olaniyan
, one thing was clear: this kid wanted to represent his home state and play in the
Maryland
Crab Bowl.
Olaniyan, who plays his high school ball at Woodberry Forest, in Virginia, is actually a resident of Bowie, Maryland.
After some discussion with Crab Bowl Founder Chuck Harmon today it appears as if Olaniyan will be named to the Maryland Crab Bowl roster.
"Mr. Harmon called today," said a very excited Olaniyan, "and said that I have a spot in the game!"
Talented defensive end
J.R. Ferguson
is also in a similar situation, as he will line up for Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Virginia this fall. Ferguson was named to the initial Crab Bowl Super Sixty roster as a member of the Baltimore squad.
This issue is something that Harmon had actually talked in length about numerous times because of the selection of Ferguson. It comes as no surprise to me that Olaniyan would be named to the Crab Bowl roster as well. He is everything that game stands for. Aramide is an outstanding student, a tremendous character throughout his community, and he’s not bad at the game of football either.
It is guys like
Nick Forbes
,
Adrian Coxson
, Bisi Ezekoye, and now Aramide Olaniyan that the Crab Bowl can hang its hat on.
Good get for the Crab Bowl.
