Profile: Travis Dickson
Position: H-Back/DL
Location: Ocean Springs, MS
Height: 6' 3"
Weight: 225
Speed:4.7
Recruiting: It should not come as a shock that Travis choose LSU with
older brother, Richard Dickson, having so much success at LSU. The proximity also
worked in the Bengal's favor. Dickson had schools from all across the country
knocking on his door, but in the end, Travis picked the Tigers over Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Auburn, Oklahoma, and FSU.
What to Like: Travis is what I like to call a blue collar worker with white
collar talent. He is very quick off of the ball and is a very active defender
and also possesses great toughness in blocking and soft hands while playing H-Back,
which most colleges now project him to play on the next level.
What may concern you: Travis has made his mark on the defensive side
of the ball for the most part during his prep career at Ocean Springs. Dickson
has played fullback the past couple of years, so if he does switch sides of
the ball on the collegiate level, it will not be totally new to him.
Bottom Line: LSU is getting a very explosive athlete that will also
do what it takes on and off the field to reach his full potential. Travis is
a bona-fide "blue chip" pick-up for the LSU Tigers.
