Havenstein Narrows List

Havenstein Narrows List

Scout.com talked with 2010 Maryland OT prospect Robby Havenstein from Linganore High School in Frederick, MD. The four-star lineman is down to a final five and also starting to make plans for his official visits.

Robby Havenstein is very excited about the upcoming season and getting back to the state championship game. He also is one of the more highly recruited players in the country. After a busy offseason and needing to stay focused on his final high school season Havenstein has narrowed his list down to a more manageable final five schools.

"I narrowed my list recently," said Havenstein. "I just wanted to be able to concentrate my efforts more on my season and just move forward with the recruiting process. I have a final five of Wisconsin, Maryland, Wake Forest, Penn State and Virginia in no particular order."

With official visits allowed starting with the first day of classes Havenstein has already been working on the first couple. "I have an official visit already set for Wisconsin on September 5th. I also was at Maryland for an unofficial recently and talked to Head Coach (Ralph) Friedgen about my official visit. It will be in December sometime. The rest will be set at a later date."

Havenstein, like many recruits, has been feeling the pressure of such an important decision and the schools and coaching staffs that are affected during this process. Still he will not make a decision until he feels completely comfortable.

"Some schools have said they would like me to decide sooner rather than later. I can appreciate where they are coming from but I will know when it is the right time. I won't make a decision before then. It doesn't matter about the stadium or the size of the school or things like that. It is about what is best for me. I want to make sure it is the right fit."
