Akron's Ryan Thompson visited three schools and he's made his decision. Thompson gives

“There were three basic reasons why I committed to Boston College,” said defensive end Ryan Thompson.

“It’s a prestigious school, the players and coaches and the city of Boston. Those were the reasons and I couldn’t pass up a chance to be a part of a great program.

“I liked all three of my visits but I would say that Stanford was second and then Northwestern finished third.”

Thompson, a 6-foot-4, 240-pounder, from Akron (Ohio) Archbishop Hoban was a three-year varsity starter that was named all-district in 2002.

Thompson had 17 tackles for loss and four sacks this season.
