Fairfield (Calif.) Vanden athlete Damon Treat (5-7, 155), has been all over this spring and summer, looking to land his first offer.

Treat camped in Hawaii at the King Kamehameha, went to the Scout.com Combine in San Francisco, the Nike Camp, UnderArmour Combine, Ultimate 100 and two camps at Sacramento State.

Treat’s been in consistent communication with several schools.

“I’ve been talking to some coaches through e-mail and stuff,” said Treat. “I talk with Coach Adams from Sac State, Coach Washington from San Diego and Coach Wiggins from Illinois. Also Coach Sacks at Nevada, as an athlete.”

Sacramento State has been the most prolific in their interest in Treat, having him at their team camp and their Rising Stars Camp.

“Coach Adams wanted me to play DB there at their camp,” said Treat. “I went to their Rising Stars and they liked me.”

Treat’s work at corner was relatively new, since he’s been primarily an offensive player.

“I didn’t play much defense last year, but I’m about to play cornerback this year,” said Treat. “I don’t know what I’d rather play in college.”

Vanden has a handful of prospects this year, which can only help Treat’s exposure down the stretch.

“That will definitely help and definitely going against Deonne Bucannon in practice, we’re constantly battling back and forth,” said Treat.

Treat visited Nevada unofficially earlier this month and enjoyed his time in Reno.

“Nevada was amazing,” said Treat. “Their campus, with all the technology, was perfect.”

He also likes another WAC program.

“I like Hawaii a lot too,” said Treat. “I have a lot of family over there. I didn’t get a chance to visit when I was over there, because I was too busy practicing.”

Treat said he’s hopeful he can take all five of his official visits.

Academically, he’s in fine shape.

“I should easily qualify, there is no problem there,” said Treat.

Treat scored 13 touchdowns and had 1,310 all-purpose yards during his junior season.
