East Grand Rapids and Orchard Lake St. Mary's met for the third time in three years and on a rainy night, it was the Pioneers who came away with the victory.

East Grand Rapids took their first step towards a three-peat tonight, winning their season opener 21-7 over Orchard Lake St. Mary's.

The Pioneers were lead by the rushing of senior Kirk Spencer, and the two-way play of fellow senior Colin Voss. Voss caught a touchdown pass and had a sack for an EGR defense which harassed touted quarterback Robert Bolden all night.

Bolden had a rushing touchdown and was solid through the air, but was sacked numerous times and threw an interception late in the first half which lead to a Pioneer touchdown.

Scout.com will have video, photos and full scouting reports up in the coming days.
