Florida safety ready for first visit
Demetrius Pettway was very excited to start his season this past weekend but the start was put on hold. "Our game got delayed because of the lightning. We play Braddock on Thursday. I wanna get 200 rushing and two picks. For the whole season, I wanna beat South Dade, get back to district titles, and win states." Pettway, 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, talked about the latest on the recruiting front. "I'm gonna visit Syracuse and I was gonna visit Western Michigan but someone told me it was boring so I don't know. I go to Syracuse not next week but the following week." The schools were busy calling Pettway during the first week of September. "Western Michigan, Florida, FIU, Alabama, Syracuse, schools like that. Coach Bedford loves me so he was just keeping in touch, trying to make sure I was staying on top of my grades. Western Michigan, FIU, and Syracuse have offered me." Pettway, who finished his junior season with 40 tackles and four picks, talked more about his interest in the Gators and others. "Florida got so many commitments so there's no telling what they're gonna do. I like the whole SEC but I gotta go where I fit in." Inside the classroom Pettway claims a 2.5 GPA and a 790 SAT score.
