Purdue has put together an impressive recruiting class in 2002-03. The Boilermakers put an exclamation point on this class with the verbal commitment of Dallas (Highland Park) quarterback Bill Foran.

“I was considering the Ivy League schools but in the end I decided that Purdue would be the best place for me,” said quarterback Billy Foran.

“Princeton actually came in 2nd and behind them I’d say it was Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech.

“I get to play in a great conference and we get to play Notre Dame every year. I couldn’t pass up this once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Foran, a 6-foot-3, 210-pounder, from Dallas (Texas) Highland Park took over the quarterback reigns from (Northwestern quarterback) Alexander Webb in 2002 and did a fantastic job.

A wide receiver in 2001, Foran moved to quarterback this year and was named all-district. He threw for 2,000 yards and rushed for another 1,000 with a combined 36 rushing and passing touchdowns.
