Madison Central is loaded. This is the year Jaguar fans have been hoping for and the MC players and coaches have been working towards. From top to bottom Madison Central is as complete as any team I have seen in several years. A couple of weeks back they took on Melrose of Memphis which has some nice prospects of their own.
Scout.com Road Report
Carlton Martin
Madison Central HS (MS)
DE / #91
C/O 2010
[GALLERY:]
Scout's Take:
Carlton moves up and down the line, so it is easy to see him in several types of situations. He really uses his hands well. He can stand up blockers, shed them and then make the tackle with ease. He has added some good weight from a season ago, so a move inside on the next level is certainly doable. Once in pursuit Martin has adequate speed to run down ball carriers and force QBs into an errant throw before the play develops.
Bryon Bennett
Madison Central HS (MS)
DT / #95
C/O 2010
[GALLERY:]
Scout's Take:
I really enjoy watching Bryon play. I have had the chance to see him in person twice and he has a lot of fun out there. He never quits on the play and his motor doesn't stop even on the sidelines. He is the first to cheer for a teammate after a nice play and the first to offer a word of encouragment when a mistake is made. Bryon is a kid you win with on and off the field.
Tobias Singleton
Madison Central HS (MS)
WR / #11
C/O 2011
Scout's Take:
Tobias is electric. He burst onto the scene as his team's top deep threat as a sophomore and now he is building on that fast start. He has amazing ball skills for a guy his size. Once in space he is going to gash the defense for a big play. He will play in the slot on the next level and with his natural ability, I would expect him to get some snaps as a true freshman.
Lawrence Peterson
Melrose HS (TN)
LB
C/O 2010
Scout's Take:
Lawrence is a very sure handed tackler. He runs well and he can make plays in coverage. I have had the chance to see Lawrence a couple of times in camps and combines, but his play under the lights is even more impressive. He is turning into a solid leader on the football field. His senior year is going to be extremely important in relation to his college destination. His current offer list does not match his ability. He is still very much a sleeper.
Eric Watson
Melrose HS(TN)
LB / #7
C/O 2010
Scout's Take:
Eric Watson may not be the first player you notice getting off of the Melrose team bus, but once the game starts you would be smart to try and locate him. Watson hits hard and he hits every play. If he has the chance to clean up for a teammate, he does it with a reckless abandon. He could make the move to strong safety on the next level, but in some systems he could easily play weak side linebacker.
