Emanuel Ford profile
"The season is going real good. We're 4-0," said Emanuel. "We had a close game last week with Eastside. Their defense really held up. It was a defensive battler, but we were able to ge the win.
"We play South Delta this week. They have a good line and a pretty good running back. I feel real confident that we can get the win. We have a good defense for them and I believe our offense has the perfect setup for their defense."
Several colleges have made contact with Ford over the course of the last year, but two schools from his home state appear to be the most serious about him right now.
"I have been hearing from Southern Miss and Mississippi State the most," said Emanuel. "I was talking to them a lot during the summer. It's real busy right now, so I haven't been able to call them as much."
Ford has an open invitation to attend games in both Hattiesburg and Starkville, but so far he has not been able to take advantage.
"I have had not time to go to any games or anything like that, but I have been checking up in them on the internet," said Emanuel. "I am going to watch them on TV and I plan on going to some games later on."
Ford is looking for offer number one and he believes his versatility as a playmaker will only help him as college recruiters conduct their evaluations of him.
"People are talking about me playing receiver or safety," said Emanuel. "It doesn't really matter to me which one. I can play both of them."
