Camden Catholic Pounds Delran

Scout.com traveled to Delran, N.J., on Friday night to watch Delran High School host the Camden Catholic Fighting Irish in a game that was very important to Camden Catholic after being upset by Camden High School last weekend. The Camden Catholic stars didn’t disappoint.

Camden Catholic High School came out with some fire on Friday night and their three big prospects in Joe Brennan, Sherard Cadogan and Terrence Casper didn’t disappoint, helping their teammates to a 35-0 shellacking of Delran.

The star of the game on offense was definitely Wisconsin quarterback commitment Joe Brennan who completed 9 of 17 passes for 160 yards and three touchdowns. Brennan ran the game’s opening score in from 28 yards out and ended up with 88 rushing yards and a score on six carries, making him responsible for every point in the game. Brennan looked excellent throwing the ball early, starting off the game 5 of 7 with one dropped pass, however late in the game he started to fall off and only completed 2 of his final 10 passes.

Terrence Casper used his 6-foot-7 frame at wide receiver to beat out the smaller Delran defensive backs, especially in the end zone. He had touchdown receptions of seven and eight yards and finished with five catches for 42 yards and two scores on the night. He has yet to pick up his first offer.

On defense, Sherard Cadogan was a nightmare for the Delran offensive line. On the first two series of the game Cadogan registered six tackles with four of them coming for a loss. He ended with seven tackles, five tackles for loss, a pass deflection and a two-point conversion. He will be taking a visit to Pittsburgh tomorrow to watch them play.
