Yates Lineman Talks About Commit To UH
Persistance pays off in many things including recruiting. If a player seems mildly interested today, keep working hard and things could be better down th line. Of course a big win sure does help turn the tide and in this case it was the key to a big commit. When Chris Hill, from Yates High School, committed to Houston, it marked the end of a long recruiting battle. Hill had previously told Scout that Arizona was his leader and later that Oklahoma State was his leader. "I committed to UH", said Chris Hill. Though the story is not as simpe as that. Hill's former Head Football Coach is Clarence McKinney now UH's running back's coach. Though that connection seemed to play little in who he liked at the time, it was an interesting connection to follow. Since McKinney came on board UH has gotten the cream of the crop from Yates High School. Hill continued, "I committed for no reason, I have been interested in them and I am feeling pretty good about them right now. Of course, the game played a big part, Oklahoma State, I was looking forward to the OSU game." Hill is familliar with the UH program but before the game OSU was the leader but the Cougars showed something to him that made him decide to commit to the hometown team. "They are doing their thing right now and they are up and coming. By the time I will get there (UH), they will be for real. Chris Hill is a massive tackle prospect who fits UH's style of offensive linemen. Basically, they are a bit on the raw side but have good skills and with college weight program and work they become dominate linemen. It has been a winning formula for them. Stay with Scout for more on UH.
