Kedric Rhodes is a talented running back prospect from Trinity Catholic High in Ocala and Scout…
Scout's Take: FIU RB commit
What to Like: Kedric Rhodes was a productive part of Ocala Trinity's offense last season, one that finished the season by playing Pahokee for the Class 2B state championship. He was productive, running for over 1,000 yards on the season and playing well in many of their biggest games. He's a tremendous athlete who can run well, catch the ball out of the backfield, make people miss in the open field, and do a lot of things for you on offense. He's pretty explosive, too, having jumped 9-5 on the broad and 36 on the vert at a combine earlier in the year. He plays for a very good program that's used to winning and he's a very competitive player. What may concern you: He lacks ideal size to run between the tackles at 5-10 and 170. He's not a kid who's going to break a whole bunch of tackles, either. Whether or not he can become a 15-20 carry-a-game type of back at the Div 1 level remains to be seen. He's tough enough but he's never really been asked to carry that much load at Trinity and he'll need to bulk up some at the next level since he has pretty good, but not elite level, speed. Bottom Line: FIU is getting one of the best players from one of the best small-school programs in the state. He's an excellent outside runner with excellent athleticism, tremendous hands, and is a borderline three-star prospect for the Golden Panthers. He had some BCS programs recruiting him at the time of his commitment.
