Clear Fork, W.Va., native Travis Whitten is seeing his recruiting pick up a bit lately and that may have a bit to do with his outstanding production so far in his senior season. It’s only four games into the season, but Whitten has already surpassed the thousand yard mark.

Travis Whitten, a 5-foot-9, 180-pound running back from Westside High School has played in four games so far this season and has carried the ball 83 times for 1047 yards and 12 touchdowns, averaging a gaudy 12.6 yards per carry. He also has a 91-yard kick return touchdown on the season and in his most recent game against Scott High School he had 410 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 31 carries.

Right now Whitten is seeing his mailbox a bit fuller with letters coming from West Virginia, Wake Forest, Louisville and North Carolina.
