Peoples Has Electrifying Night

Last year St. Joseph’s Prep was missing the explosive presence of former running back Jamir Livingston and when their starting running back went down this year, they had to turn to a recent sophomore transfer in Desmon Peoples on Friday night. Peoples did a little more then just impress, he dominated.

Desmon Peoples won’t be able to receive letters from schools for a year, however when that time comes there is a pretty good chance that anyone looking for a return specialist and scat back will come calling. Peoples may only be 5-foot-6, 145 pounds, but he is extremely elusive and with a few years of lifting, he could become the type of back a spread offense covets.

Peoples started against Father Judge High School, a 4-0 Philadelphia Catholic League team on Friday night and on his first run from scrimmage he blasted 80 yards down field for a touchdown. He carried the ball 12 times for 202 yards and two touchdowns in the first half and finished with 275 yards on 22 carries. He was also very dangerous as a return man and while we don’t have his stats, he had a number of long punt returns in the game.

Long story short, this is definitely player to watch next season in recruiting.
