Kugler Holds Four Offers

Robert Kruger spent Saturday watching Syracuse play West Virginia and has an offer from the Orange, however three other schools have also offered and there are plenty more vying for his services right now.

Orchard Park High School enjoyed a state championship in 2008 and Robert Kugler played a large role in that result. This year the 6-foot-3, 235-pound defensive end/tight end has led his team to a 5-1 record two weeks before the playoffs start and the goal is the same in 2009. He already has four scholarship offers and talked about them with Scout.com on Saturday.

"We're actually driving home from the Syracuse game right now," Kugler said. "It was pretty exciting to go there, go into the locker room after the game and just get to be on the sideline and talk to the coaching staff for a little while."

"Syracuse offered me right when they could in September because they had been talking to me leading up until I was officially a junior," Kugler explained. "I went down for their junior day and it was really cool down there. I got to go to a basketball game which was really exciting and I met with the coaching staff. I love Coach (Bob) Casullo as a position coach and I think Head Coach (Doug) Marrone will get things going there. He's a Syracuse guy and I get a great vibe from the entire staff in that, I think they'll turn things around there and put them the way they should be."

Syracuse is not the only school showing Kugler plenty of interest.

"I have scholarships right now from Florida Atlantic, Colorado State and Akron as well and also hear from Stanford, Duke, Virginia, Connecticut, Washington and Boise State, Iowa, Pittsburgh, Purdue and Oregon."

"A couple of coaches have been to the school to meet me in person which I thought was pretty cool. Pittsburgh was in and then I went to the game when they played Buffalo up here. I know a couple of guys that have played there and they say great things. I also know the campus is really nice, so I'm interested in trying to take a visit this season when I get time."

Kugler is an absolutely excellent student that carries a 98-percent cumulative GPA while taking three AP classes as a junior. He will take his PSAT on October 17th and his SAT and ACT in the spring of 2010.
