Q & A with Missouri Defensive End

Will Paul

Will Paul was one of the best football prospects we evaluated on film in 2002. Paul talks about his verbal commitment and much more.

Why did you commit to Michigan?

"Because the education and football are on the same level. Both are "Top 10" national programs."

What position will you play at Michigan?

"I'm going to play defensive end."

Which coach was recruiting you from Michigan?

"Andy Moeller."

What do you hope to accomplish as a true freshman?

"I want to get my education off on the right foot to begin with and I want to make a name for myself with the coaching staff. Compete as hard as I can every single day."

What was you most memorable high school football moment?

"I don't know if there was actually just one moment. I'd say what I'll remember the most is being 2-8 as a freshman and we turned things around and went 9-3 the next year and we stayed on top."

Who has had the most influence on your young life?

"My dad because he helped me so much in the recruiting process. He made the tapes, sent out the tapes, took me to camps and took me on my unofficial visits."

Who is your favorite college or professional football player?

"Brian Urlacher." What did you like the most about the recruiting process?

"I liked all the mail to begin with and visiting all the schools."

What did you like the least about the recruiting process?

"When coaches started to call and they could call whenever they wanted. That got kind of hectic."

What advice would you give an underclassman that will go through the recruiting process in the future?

"Take as many unofficial visits as you can. I wanted to commit early, to get the pressure of my back, relax and enjoy my senior year.
