SCOUTING REPORT

Spikes knows how to run the rock! He has very good awareness, seems to know where all the defenders are, which allows him to make the necessary cut to have a successful run. He has great vision to find a hole and the explosiveness to burst through it.

Spikes also has great acceleration and once he gets going, he has the speed to separate himself from all defenders trying to catch him. His speed is deceptive and looks like he is moving faster when he is. If defenders takes a high angle, he has the body control to make a move and cut back moving at full speed. If the angle is shallow, he will beat a defender to the end zone.

He is also very good at setting his blocks up, which allows him to break a lot of runs for a long distance. Definitely a game breaker! He is very shifty as a runner, knows how to turn a run that looks to be going nowhere into a positive gain. In space, Spikes is electric.

I would like to see more of him as a receiver out of the backfield. If he can implement this into his game he would just be that much more of a complete player.

Also, needs to display more power between the tackles and also finishing runs. You have to be able to get the tough yards sometimes between the tackles. He needs to be able to do a better job at breaking tackles and gaining yards after contact.
