Prospect: Quincy McKinney
Class: 2011
Location: Columbus, Georgia
High School: Carver
Position: Offensive Tackle
Size: 6-4/305
Strengths: “My leg power, my quick feet, and my hands are my biggest strengths on the line.”
Need to Work On: “I want to get off the ball better mainly.”
Recruiting: “I have talked to Rutgers, Maryland, Clemson, and Georgia and I am getting letters from Vanderbilt, Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan State.”
Offers: “Duke and North Carolina have offered me. Duke is a written offer and North Carolina is a verbal. Duke has been to my school and I think they are an up and coming team in the ACC. North Carolina has put some guys in the pros and I like that about them.”
Top Schools: “I would have to say Duke and North Carolina on top, then Miami, Clemson, and Vanderbilt.”
2009 Visits: “I visited Rutgers over the summer because I am actually from New Jersey, I have visited Clemson twice including the Middle Tennessee State game, I visited Georgia, I have been to a game at Auburn, and a game at Alabama.”
“I liked everything that has to do with football at Rutgers. Everything that you need as a student-athlete is in one building and I really liked that. Clemson really cares about their students and I like how their graduation rate is very high. Georgia is just the Bulldogs and I like everything about them - I can’t really explain it. I like Auburn’s fans and how they are so crunk during the game. It was pouring down rain and the fans didn’t move – I liked that. Tuscaloosa is not too far, but I didn’t get to stay there that long. Nothing really stood out that visit.”
Performance this Year: “I think I have played good since this is my first year started on the offensive line. I am starting to get the feeling for the game and I am bringing it. I am getting about seven or eight pancakes a game and playing good right now.”
