Recruiting Breakdown: Things are just getting started for Summerlin and he has heard from schools like Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, and Tennessee already.
Scout’s Take: Summerlin is corner that likes to play physical. He has been brought up playing running back and he could still be a good one, but he has taken that physical style of play from that position to the other side of the ball. He likes to knock guys off their routes and he plays a little bigger than his height. Closing on the ball is something he does well and combining that with his toughness makes him solid in run support. His recovery speed is good and he can changes directions well. He is still very raw when talking footwork, his set up on the ball as far as inside or outside shoulder, understanding the coverages, and just the feel of playing corner in general. The athleticism is there, the ball skills are there, the speed is there, and the potential is as well. Look for Summerlin to become a name a lot of people in the South are talking about by mid summer after he hits some camps and showcases his skills in spring practice.
