Coty Blanchard & Co. finish undefeated

Cherokee County completes an undefeated regular season with a 34-0 blowout over Scottsboro. Coty Blanchard and rest of the Warriors had a big night and look unstoppable heading into the Class 4A state playoffs. The team went undefeated last season, but lost to UMS-Wright in the state championship. The Warriors hope to reverse things this year.

Coty Blanchard has been the best quarterback in the state this season. He not only can sling the ball, but can run it as well. Blanchard went 21-of-28 for 338 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in the final game of the season. Blanchard also rushed nine times for 78 yards and a touchdown.

His main target was Arkansas State commitment Gabriel Chambers who hauled in six receptions for 113 yards and two touchdowns.

The Cherokee County offense accounted for 463 total yards while the defense only gave up 113 yards on the night.

Blanchard has been sensational during his senior campaign. He is a precision passer completing 123-of-175 attempts for 1,840 yards with 23 touchdowns and only one interception. He also had 83 rushing attempts for 645 yards and 12 touchdowns.

D.J. Fife and Desmond Brown have helped tote the rock this season. Fife has 83 attempts for 730 and eight touchdowns. Brown has 72 attempts for 437 yards and two touchdowns.

Gabriel Chambers is the leading receiver with 45 receptions for 708 yards and 10 touchdowns. Fife is the second leading receiver with 26 receptions for 408 yards and four touchdowns.

Cherokee County averaged 43.5 points per game while only giving up 11.2. They have averaged 421.8 yards per game while only giving up 209. The Warriors finished the regular season ranked as the No. 1 team in Class 4A (10-0).
