Scout's Take - Keith Wenning

Scout's Take - Keith Wenning

Ball State earned the verbal pledge of Keith Wenning who was going under the bright lights of recruiting in a small Ohio town.

If you've not heard of Coldwater (Ohio) you're not alone. Not many people outside of Ohio know the type of high level football played in this small community where winning championships is a part of life. Keith Wenning is enjoying that life and now can also look towards the future at Ball State. Here is Scout.com take on Wenning.

What To Like: Wenning is well coached and a solid student off the field. He also happens to be a very good athlete at 6-foot-4, 225-pounds who is a safe prospect capable of playing another position if quarterback doesn't work out.

What May Concern You: Only had an offer from Air Force and comes from a smaller division of football in Ohio are some of the concerns raised about Wenning.

Bottom Line: College football is about developing players and Keith Wenning is the type of player college coaches like to work with and develop. He's got above average physical skills and may be the biggest sleeper in the Class of 2010 out of Ohio's deep talent pool. While he's only had the one year as a QB, Wenning may be a player that fights for playing time once he learns the offensive system.
