Scout spent over an hour at the home of Brent Benedict last week in between visiting high schools to look at underclassmen and covering games.
Benedict is a 2010 All-American offensive tackle that is right outside being a five-star on Scout.com. He was having a dominant year at Bolles before a non-contact injury to his knee that will keep him out of action the rest of the season.
We will have a three-part feature on Benedict on Scout in the near future where he will break down the night that the injury took place, the surgery and rehab, and then his recruiting.
But first, his mother Holly talked with us filling us in on all the little things he son may have left out as he took us through the past couple of weeks. She talks about the people that let them use their private jet, their time working with Dr. James Andrews, the support around the community, and much more.
Check out the interview with Mrs. Benedict here and stay tuned for the first of the three-part feature on Benedict in the near future.
The Benedict’s have a long list of people to thank and just a few that definitely need to be mentioned are The Bolles Community, Dr. James Andrews (surgeon), Dr. Matt Serlo (Five-Star Physical Therapy), Dr. Lucie (Bolles Team Doctor/Orthopedic Surgeon), Andy Godek (Bolles Trainer/Physical Therapist), Dr. Franko (Retired Orthopedic Surgeon), Herb Peyton (Let the family use his private jet), Dr. Murphy (Orthopedic), and the St. Vincent’s Hospital Staff.
