Josh Gebhardt, defensive prospect from Landmark Christian in Fairburn, Ga., had a tremendous regular season, playing both the outside linebacker and defensive end positions. He has sent out his video to schools all across the country, and he's garnering a great deal of attention from some major programs.
"I'm getting more and more letters in the mail,"
Josh Gebhardt
stated. "I got a letter from
Texas A&M
today. In the last few weeks I've gotten mail from
Kansas State
and
Tulane
. I've gotten mail from TCU,
Kansas
,
UAB
, and
Northern Illinois
, too.
"
Central Michigan
came by my school the other day. They told me they were interested, and that they're gonna start recruiting me. They said that I'm the type of athlete they need."
Gebhardt started the season at outside linebacker and excelled at that position. The Landmark coaching staff decided to move him back to defensive end to for pass rushing needs.
"I probably had about 14 sacks on the season," he said. "I had about 30 tackles for a loss. I blocked seven punts. I returned one of those blocked punts for a touchdown. I probably had around 10 pass deflections. I had five forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries."
The athletic prospect is just looking for a victory in the first round of the playoffs.
"We play Commerce in our first round playoff game," he commented. "I just wanna win. That's it. I'm not thinking about any kind of stats. I just wanna help my team win. I just wanna go out and play the best that I can play."
Gebhardt is open to every program in the nation, and he's patiently waiting to schedule his official visits.
"I don't have a leader right now," he said. "I'd say that I'm undecided. I'll schedule all of my official visits after the season."
