The Bassfield Yellow Jackets were one play away from playing for the 2A state title last year. With a pair of 40 point playoff victories over Pelahatchie and Loyd State, BHS looks poised for a run to Jackson and a chance at the golden football.

Scout's Take:
There is a lot to like about Justin. He has the frame to bulk up and play weakside linebacker and the speed to play strong safety. He really, really enjoys generating contact. He trusts his instincts and has very little trouble locating the football. The name of Penn's game is pursuit. He never gives up on the play often making tackles near the other sideline once a ball carrier breaks containment. Justin is a true sleeper that most have schools have overlooked.

C/O 2010
Scout's Take:
While a little undersized for a BCS defensive tackle prospect, I am not sure I have seen a more dominant defender all season. Marcus is simply explosive. His first step off the ball is incredible. He is able to get into the gap and disrupt plays before they even get started. His current plan is to spend some time on the junior college level and that will give him the time to add some mass and some additional seasoning. If he works hard, he will be at senior college near you in two years.
Marino Daggan
Bassfield HS (MS)
CB / #3
C/O 2011
Scout's Take:
Marino is a name to remember for the class of 2011. His recognition and awareness in the pass pattern allows him to break on the ball with confidence. Daggan is a true cover corner and not a converted athlete simply going through the motions. He has great closing speed and his change of direction makes him tough to shake. He is one of the best defensive backs I have seen this year regardless of classification or graduation year.
