Cottom Tough to Bring Down
Brandon Cottom runs a 4.5 40-yard dash, has a north-south style of running and when he lowers his shoulder with that 6-foot-3, 220-pound frame, he can be a devastating runner. He started his junior season a bit slowly, but he averaged 222 yards and three touchdowns in his final two games. "I've been getting a lot of mail from Pittsburgh, Connecticut, Rutgers, Alabama, Minnesota, West Virginia and a lot of other schools," Cottom said. "I've been to a game at Pittsburgh which was this year against Navy and I liked it out there. I had a really good time and really enjoyed the atmosphere. You could really tell they have a good football program and positive things going for them." "I grew up in South Jersey and moved to Pennsylvania half way through 8th grade, so we didn't have any big schools in Jersey to cheer for like Pitt," Cottom explained. "My coach handles most of my recruiting, but I'm definitely going to the U.S. Army All-American Combine and will be working out hard. I don't know what I'll be doing in terms of visits this year." Council Rock North lost to North Penn in the first round of the playoffs last weekend to North Penn. Cottom rushed for 936 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior with 444 yards and six of those touchdowns coming in their final two games.
