North Penn Beats Neshaminy

Scout.com has been out to watch stars play for or against North Penn like Anthony Gonzalez, Corey Majors, J.D. Dzurko, Jarrod West and many others, however every time we see the Knights the man blowing it up on the field is junior running back Craig Needhammer. That didn’t change on Friday night as the Knights won 35-22.
Scout.com traveled from North Penn High School, to old Souderton High School to new Souderton High School tonight to finally track down a highly anticipated playoff game between North Penn and Neshaminy and it was well worth the drive as Craig Needhammer and company put on a show.
As for the District 1 Class AAAA quarterfinal showdown,
J.D. Dzurko
and the rest of the North Penn High School offensive line did a great job as usual opening holes all night for junior running back Craig Needhammer, who scampered in for five touchdown runs during the game.
Dzurko played his usual game, staying at strong tackle for the entire contest. We were surprised to see that he has now gotten himself up to an impressive 280 pounds and still looked as mobile as ever. He did a quality job with his drive blocking, looked agile while pulling and moving in space and even came in on goal line stands to play defensive line. The only miscue we saw during the game was a holding call which was a bit questionable. Dzurko was performing a kick-out block and when he got his man to the perimeter they both fell down. It was a clean block, but Dzurko grabbed some jersey on the way down and got cited for holding. One miscue is pretty good though and this is a player that still isn’t getting the recruiting respect he has earned.
On the other side of the ball, Neshaminy athlete
Corey Majors
had a rough game on the offensive side of the ball. He played both running back and fullback, however his offensive line had trouble with the Knights’ strong front four. He did have a touchdown late in the game. At linebacker, Majors was in on quite a few plays and showed very, very good lower body strength on the field at all times. He was able to plow blockers when he stayed low and get to the ball carrier because of that. He currently has an offer from
Pittsburgh
and we expect he’ll have many more.
North Penn will play Avon Grove next weekend.
