Tim Jackson talks favorites, officials

Tim Jackson, three-star prospect from Gibbs High School in St. Petersburg, Fla., is ready to trim his list of favorites. The athletic defensive end has scheduled two more official visits, with one other visit in mind.

"I've recently set up an official visit up with Stanford (offer)," said Tim Jackson. "That'll be on the fifth of December. I've set one up with North Carolina (offer), too. I'll be there the weekend (December 12th) after Stanford. The next one I set up will probably be at Ole Miss."

"I'm still thinking about my last official visit. I'm thinking about holding that one in my back pocket. I'm gonna wait and see what comes up. I will take a fifth (official) visit."

The Sunshine State standout has been wide open throughout the recruiting process, but he is now ready to release a short list.

"I still don't have a leader," he said. "I just have a top eight. My top eight are Stanford, Wake Forest, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Iowa State, and USF. Those are all even."

Jackson has offers from all across the country. He has recently been in close contact with three other BCS conference schools.

"Kansas, Michigan, and Florida State have shown me a lot of interest lately," he commented. "There's probably a good chance that those schools will offer."

"Kansas and Florida State are just waiting on my film. I just sent my film to Michigan. I'm waiting to see what they (Michigan) have to say after they watch it."

Jackson put together a stellar senior season.

"On the season I had 60 tackles, 12 sacks, three forced fumbles, and 20 tackles for a loss," he said. "I had a lot of quarterback pressures, and I had a few passes that I batted down."
