Scout.com spoke with Waialua (Hawai'i) offensive tackle Micah Hatchie, and the nation's No. 25 OT took his first official visit this past weekend - to Washington. With the Huskies one of five Division-1 schools to offer the 6-foot-5, 285-pounder, did he fall in love with everything he saw on Montlake? Or is he still looking around at taking some other visits before making his final decision?

"I just woke up from my trip to Washington," Hatchie told Scout.com Sunday night. "It was good, I liked it. I'd rate it a 10. I really liked it."

"I liked the coaches. We started bonding a lot more. They started getting me a lot more interested in their school. And coach Sark (Steve Sarkisian), this is his first year. He talked to me about how I can make a major impact for them next year. And last night we were talking about how they really keep track of the boys. They worry about you a lot and check in every day to see how you're doing in class. They make sure you're doing well."

When asked for highlights, Hatchie said that hanging out with the recruits and players, as well as going to the 102nd Apple Cup between Washington and Washington State were his biggest highlights, as well as checking out the school. "The game was intense," he said of the Huskies' 30-0 win over the Cougars. "Just how it was played and the crowd. It was packed last night. I've never seen a crowd like that before."

With players from the islands, weather can certainly be a problem. "I liked it," Hatchie said of the colder conditions. It was 50 degrees at game time, with a 15 mph wind chill. "The cold didn't bother me. During the game it got cold. The first half we stayed outside, but the second half we went inside to the recruits' run to watch. We were all freezing."

Kalani Aldrich and Semisi Tokolahi were Hatchie's player/hosts for the weekend. "They just talked about how they are comfortable there and how it could be good for me, but they also said they trust me to make a good decision for myself," Hatchie said of his hosts, who are also from Hawai'i. Hatchie is from the island of Oahu, while Aldrich and Tokolahi both come from the Big Island.

Hatchie wasn't the only visitor from Hawai'i; Mililani's Taz Stevenson - who happens to be committed to Washington - was also there, and the two spent a lot of time together. "I hung out with him the whole trip," Hatchie said of Stevenson. "We actually had rooms next to each other, and since his parents didn't come he started hanging out with us when we went to do stuff." He also added that his parents really enjoyed their visit and were excited for him.

And Sarkisian? What did he have to say to Micah and his family? "He just wanted to thank me and my parents for coming on the trip and wanted to see if I liked the trip," Hatchie said. "I told him yeah. He told me that any time I wanted to commit, just to call him."

Hatchie added that he told Sarkisian that he wants to take other visits before making his final decision. And what schools does Hatchie plan on visiting before making that final decision? He doesn't have the dates set yet, but he wants to officially visit Oregon, California and Hawai'i before making his final decision.

But for right now, Washington, Oregon and Hawai'i were mentioned by Hatchie as being high risers on his recruiting list. "Those are the schools that are going to the top right now," he said.

With the Pac-10 dominating the landscape, people may think that Hawai'i would be getting a courtesy glance. Not so, according to Hatchie. "I would get to play in front of my friends and family and have that Warrior on my jersey," he said.
