Irish commitment talks back-up plan
"I have not talked to anyone yet," said Kendall Moore. "Coach Brown, my recruiting coach, talked to my parents today. He said regardless of what happens that Notre Dame is still a very good school. He said I committed to the school and not to the coaches. "I wouldn't say I was completely shocked that it happened, but I am kind of surprised. I knew everyone was talking about coach Weis and how he would likely be gone. I hoped it wouldn't happen. I didn't really think it would." A lot of recruits may start to reconsider their decision, but for now Moore remains committed. "My dad and I have talked about it," he said. "I am still committed to Notre Dame. I am going to stick with it for now. They have everything I want in academics and football. We have talked about a back up plan though. If I didn't go to Notre Dame I would have no idea where I would go right now. "I want people to know I am still definitely committed to Notre Dame. I am strongly committed to them. Notre Dame is a good school all-around. Coach Weis and the rest of the coaching staff are a great group of guys. They are great coaches. It's sad to see them go." A few schools have continued to recruit Moore and will likely receive official visits. "I will probably take a couple of visits," said Moore. "Coach Amato from Florida State said they are still very interested in me. I have talked to South Carolina. I went to a couple games there before. I am going to give a look at the in-state programs like N.C. State and North Carolina. Georgia Tech has also been calling my coach about me."
