The One That Got Away - Pick One – Trevor Laws, John Carlson, Ryan Harris. All three prospects are from Minnesota and all three signed with Notre Dame.

Glen Mason pulled the recruiting coup of the year in the Big Ten by inking Del Ray Beach, Florida safety Brandon Owens.

Minnesota was able to keep one of their own at home by signing Eagan’s John Shevlin. Shevlin was overshadowed by Laws, Harris and Carlson but he’s a very good athlete that should be a solid contributer for the Golden Gophers.

Three prospects worth noting in this recruiting class are running back Laurence Maroney and a pair of Ohio standouts in Justin Valentine and Ernie Wheelright.

This could be the best haul of recruits for Minnesota in more than a decade.
