Wells Hosts First Visitors
Matthew Wells profile "It was crazy," said Matthew. "During the game it was wild. I think this was my fourth time up there and it was wilder this game than the rest. It was louder than the Alabama and Florida game for sure." During Wells most recent visit to Starkville he got to see some familiar faces and become acquainted with some new ones. "Jameon Lewis was up there, Asian Ruff, Brandon Hill, Vincent Sanders and the quarterback from Florida that backed up Tim Tebow (Cameron Newton) were all there," said the Mississippi All-Star. "I got to meet the big juco DT (James Carmon). There was a lot of prospects there." Before leaving for home, Matthew got a little face time with the Bulldog coaching staff. "I got to talk to the coaches for a minute or two," said Wells. "I got to talk to Coach Hughes and Coach Mullen before he went to get interiviewed. I got a minute or two with all of the coaches. I was going in the locker room after the game, but it was so packed I had to listen from outside." While Matthew was unable to get a front row seat for Dan Mullen's post game speech, he did have plenty of time to speak with the Bulldog coaching staff Monday night. "Mississippi State came last night," said Wells. "Coach (Tony) Hughes, Cox (Greg) Knox, Coach Hud and Coach (Les) Koenning. It was all of the coaches on offense came except for the O Line coach. "They stayed a couple of hours and then they went to see somebody else. The visit went real good. We talked about everything and they got to know my family a little more. "They didn't put any pressure on me about committing. They told me they want to try me at running back." Wells will get the chance to entertain two other schools later in the week. "Coach Dameron from Ole Miss is coming in tomorrow and USM is supposed to come on Thursday," said Matthew. Wells has an official visit set for Mississippi State in January and so far that is the only visit he has scheduled. "I want to make a decision soon, but I don't really know yet," said Matthew. "I might take an official visit or two first, but I don't know. I just don't know when I am going to do it. It's a hard decision."
