“I don’t have any offers yet, but I am getting interest from Georgia, Clemson, Miami, Syracuse, Stanford, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina State, Alabama, Vanderbilt, and Florida State,” said Akil Dan-Fodio.
“Clemson is probably showing me the most interest and they have talked to me about offering before. Tennessee is showing me a lot too and they say they like me a lot. I am just waiting for that first offer to come.”
Dan-Fodio is a 6-foot-3, 210 pound junior out of Stone Mountain (GA) Redan and he can hurt defenses with both his arm and legs.
He feels that will help him pick up a number of offers.
“I am a dual-threat guy, but I would rather pass first because of my arm strength. I can run too (claims a 4.6 in the 40 yard dash) and I can make plays when a planned pay breaks down. I need to improve making reads and being more accurate, but I think what I can will lead to my offers.”
Even though he will be happy with any offer he gets, Dan-Fodio does have a preference when talking future systems he could play in.
“I would like to play in a spread system because I think I could do best there, but I could play in any type of system really,” said the junior Raider. “I would like to be able to throw it around a lot and run some option too. I just think that style fits what I do.”
A school that does not run the spread is a school that he grew up following. It is a home state school and he has a lot of interest in them.
“It is going to be hard to narrow things down when things pick up, but a school I know I like a lot is Georgia. I am from Georgia so I grew up a Georgia fan. I camped over at Georgia last summer and I worked with Coach [Mike] Bobo and he taught me a lot. I liked working with him and I thought I played well in front of him. They always have so much talent there, but I think I could fit in there.”
Look for interest in Dan-Fodio pick up in the coming months and into the spring when coaches see him live at spring practice.
