Onyeali Will Decide Soon

Mullen High School edged Pomona High School this weekend to win their second straight Class AAAAA State Championship and Scout.com caught up with defensive lineman Nduka Onyeali after the victory to talk about how the game went and what his plans are in recruiting.

Nduka Onyeali, a 6-foot-1, 240-pound defensive end from Mullen High School in Denver, Co., just enjoyed his second straight state championship and says he'll have a decision on his future made in the next two weeks.

"I'm pretty sure it will be Arizona State or Syracuse at this point," Onyeali said. "I've been talking to Minnesota and TCU as well, but right now I think I'll end up choosing from Syracuse and Arizona State."

"I like the coaches at Arizona State a lot and like the Pac 10 as well," Onyeali stated. "I feel like there is so much hype over other conferences, but the Pac is really exciting as well and you see plenty of big games out there. I have a good relationship with the coaching staff and like the defensive coordinator a lot."

"As for Syracuse, I love the coaching staff there," Onyeali explained. "The only thing with them is that they fired the defensive line coach that I had a good relationship with and I don't know the new one coming in. I think they're going to bring him out to meet with me though, so I'm looking forward to that one. I do have a great relationship with the rest of the staff though, so that's good. I also think they bring a lot to the table academically."

Onyeali finished his senior season with 17 sacks.
