Scout spent a few days in the state of Tennessee recently to put an eye on some of the football prospects. One of the schools visited was Briarcrest Christian right outside of Memphis.
Michael Oher is the biggest name to come out of there in recent years and they also sent Austin Long to Georgia and Chris Campbell to Southern Miss in 2009.
They have three juniors to watch and they are all on the offensive side of the ball.
Tray Becton – 5-11/160 – Wide Receiver
Quick Hitter: He finished the 2009 season with 37 receptions for 602 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Recruiting: Alabama, Arkansas, Clemson, Memphis, Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Notre Dame, Southern Miss, and Virginia are showing him interest. His top schools are Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Memphis, and Missouri. .
Michael Johnson – 6-6/195 – Quarterback
Quick Hitter: He had 2,000 passing yards and 21 touchdowns in 136 completions as a junior. In limited time as a sophomore, he threw for 404 yards and five touchdowns.
Recruiting: A long list of schools are showing attention early on and he favors Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Memphis, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, and Tennessee.
Hunter Long – 6-4/290 – Offensive Line
Quick Hitter: Long’s father played at Memphis and his older brother Austin is currently a red-shirt freshman at Georgia. Hunter could play offensive guard or center in college.
Recruiting: Memphis has offered and he is hearing from Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, LSU, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Tennessee. He is wide open right now.
