After looking at senior film on a number of prospects, several stood out enough to make a move up the rankings. Here are the ones who shot upwards.
Our biggest jumper was Tennessee commit
Matt Milton
(Mascoutah / Ill.). His senior season was outstanding and simply put, we haven't seen many kids 6'6 run and elude defenders like he can. Throw in his ball skills and he has the makings of a future pro.
Move:
Scout 300
: (#215 to #113),
Position:
(#35 WR to #22)
After being considered a bit of a sleeper,
Tommy Rees
(Lake Forest / Ill.) proved this season that he was is of best pure passers in the region. The ball comes out of his hand with great spin and velocity and I think he could be a future starter at Notre Dame.
Move:
Position
(#64 QB to #49)
Two years in a row now,
Erick Howard
(North Canton / Ohio) has won the state's Mr. Football award, no easy task in football loaded Ohio. This big back can run through or around you. The only real question was academics, which he is in the process of settling.
Move:
Up to 4-stars,
Scout 300
(NR to #259),
Position
(#34 RB to #26)
Another running back who had an outstanding season was
Matt Perez
(Maine South / Ill.). The Indiana commitment ran for over 2200 yards and 34 touchdowns on his way to leading his team to a state title. In doing so, he proved he had the speed and run instincts to excel at the next level.
Move:
Up to 3-stars,
Position (#
156 RB to #104)
Perez's fellow Indiana commitment,
Kofi Hughes
(Indianpolis Cathedral / Ind.) shed the athlete tag with his play at quarterback this year. He was efficient and played mistake free football. Coupled with his athleticism, Hughes has a chance to stay under center and play in Bloomington.
Move:
Position
(#55 QB to #50)
Dyjuan Lewis
(Indianapolis Pike / Ind.) is a big, athletic kid with all the tools to be succesful in college. As a senior, he showed he could impact the game as a return man as well. Could he be another Mardy Gilyard at Cincinnati? Gilyard is a great player and Lewis will have a ways to go to get to his level, but their skill sets are similar and Lewis is a very talented kid.
Move:
Up to 4-Stars,
Scout 300
(NR to #300).
Position
(#47 WR to #35)
