The nation's top juco defensive lineman according to Scout.com was in Oxford over the weekend for his second visit of the fall. The trip was more about getting his parents familiarized with the campus than anything else. Dorsey's parents gave their stamp of approval, and now the rest is history, as Wayne Dorsey has declared he will sign with Ole Miss on Wednesday. To learn more, click below.

"Man, they got excited when I told them (Ole Miss) that I was committing,"
added a laughing Wayne Dorsey. "But I can tell you I am just as excited as
they are. All I can say is Hotty Toddy!"
Wayne was riding back from Oxford to the Mississippi Gulf Coast this morning with
his teammate, Brett Moncrief, when it finally hit him that Ole Miss was the right
fit for him.
"I was kind of dozing in and out of my sleep while Brett was driving back.
It hit me on the way back that I had seen enough of the other schools' campuses,
coaches, and media reporters. Everybody was calling me. I probably had over a
100 (phone) calls just on my way back home. It was time to end the chaos. I had
found my home, and I knew without a doubt that Ole Miss was where I wanted to
be for the next two and half years, so I decided ended the recruiting process tonight."
Just how does it feel to get this off of his chest?
"Man, I am so excited for the opportunity. They're graduating three defensive
ends, but they're bringing back the nucleus of their team. I am just so excited.
It is hard to put it into words. Ole Miss is everything I could have hoped for.
It was a unique situation for me because they are losing so many players at my
position, but yet, they are bringing back so many good players at all of the other
positions. I want a chance to make an impact for a championship caliber team,
and there is no better opportunity for me to do that than Ole Miss. My parents
are excited as well. I talked to my mom on the ride back, and she told me how
much she loved the visit and my dad said the same things. There was no reason
to wait any longer so I called Coach Nutt and gave him my commitment a few minutes
ago. I am going to graduate on Friday and sign with Ole Miss this Wednesday. Next
week is going to be a big week for me. I just can't wait to hit spring practice
with that Ole Miss Rebels uniform on my back and play in the SEC. It really is
a dream come true for me."
The coach who was responsible in recruiting the Baltimore, Md. native, Ron Dickerson,
was an integral part in his decision as well.
"I just can't say enough about Coach Dickerson. He is just a great person
and a great recruiter. Throughout the whole process, he always made me feel like
Ole Miss was the best place for me. He just has that warm personality and made
me feel comfortable that Ole Miss was the best place for me. He is just such a
great recruiter and a great person and coach. I can't put put a big enough emphasis
on what a great recruiter he is. Coach Dickerson was the best recruiter out of
all of the coaches I talked to, and he always made me feel the most at home."
What sealed the deal for Ole Miss?
"I just wanted my parents to get a good look at the school and the academics
and the coaches. That in itself is what finalized my decision. They just loved
it and so do I. This visit was more of a visit for them than me. I wanted them
to see what I had already experienced on my official visit earlier this year.
I was sold on Ole Miss back on my visit, and I wanted my parents to understand
why I loved it so much up there. Once they got to experience what I had already
experienced, it was a done deal for our family."
What did Wayne's parents most like about the University of Mississippi?
"I think my mom just loved the city and the coaches and the campus. My mom
and dad kept commenting how beautiful it was around the campus and town. That
really surprised them. You know how the south and Mississippi kind of get a bad
rap up north. Once they saw that those things were not true, they gave me their
blessing. Actually, they encouraged me to go to Ole Miss (laugh). They pretty
much did a complete turnaround after coming down here to see what it is really like.
They are kind of jealous they are not going to get to live down here too (laugh)."
Dorsey took in a couple of practices over the weekend as the Rebels
prepare for their second consecutive New Year's Day bowl game.
"I just saw how well I fit in. They are losing all of those defensive ends,
but they are bringing back their inside guys like (Jerrell) Powe, Ted (Laurent),
and (Lawon) Scott. (Kentrell) Lockett will be on the other side. Damien Jackson
will be behind me, and with them bringing back the nucleus of the team, I feel
like I can be the missing link to get them to the SEC championship game and hopefully
the national championship game. That is all everyone is talking about. There are
a lot of veterans coming back next year, and you can tell they are not happy at
all about coming up short this year. I could just feel the energy from the team
that everyone is focused on the same thing and that is bringing an SEC championship
to Ole Miss next year."
Dorsey had one message to the Ole Miss fans.
"I will sign on Wednesday, take my last final on Thursday, and graduate on
Friday. When I report in January, I am going to work as hard as I can to make
sure that I represent the Ole Miss family with class. And most importantly, I know
they are losing Greg Hardy, Marcus Tillman, and Emmanuel Stephens, but I will
try and make sure they do not lose much and keep that chain tight. I will make
sure that our defense continues to be dominant. That's my promise."
