It's about finishing

Read on for the latest on Jacksonville Bishop Kenny standout tight end Neil Basford.

Neil Basford is one of the top tight end prospects in north Florida this year and he talked about the senior season he just had.

"I tore my hamstring in the beginning of the year, so I missed the first 6 weeks," Basford said. "I ended with 11 catches and 186 yards. We went 8 and 2 and then lost in the first round of the playoffs to Pensacola, who is in the state championship."

Basford, 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, committed to Wake Forest early in the recruiting process and remains committed to them.

"They were good, just one of those things they couldn't pull it out and win," he said. "If they can just finish things next year they will be in good shape. Some games came down to the last minute and they just need to finish those."

Basford, who said no other schools still recruit him, plans on seeing Wake next month on a visit.

"I know a lot about them already but I'm going up there January 14 through 17th for my official visit," he said. "That will be it then."
